Feeling Nostalgic

That sweet baby reminds me of my little girl that I miss so much.  I'm never going to get over losing her.

I'm feeling nostalgic with my mom being in town and all.  My adventures in seeking good recipes to feature on my food blog led me to guava desserts which brought me more nostalgia.  The guava turnovers took me back to weekend evenings when I was a kid that were so special.  My parents would take us to a cuban restaurant in Ybor City for a cuban sandwich followed by a guava turnover or empanada to take home.  Sometimes we would go to a little cafe after dinner for some fruity ice cream called helados.  Those were special times and the great memories put a smile on my face.

As usual I have many new blog posts listed below.  Check them out!

Happy Thursday!  Hopefully your week has been a good one.

Springtime Focus

Happy Weekend!!

I'm so happy for my mindset moving to Spring.  That makes me very happy!  Today's focus has been on gardening and Springtime.  Check out my new posts.

What is really making me so happy is my mom will be visiting for the next two weeks.  It has been a while since I've seen her.  We have plans to get together with my cousin and do some stuff that involves me finally leaving my house and being social.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Times!

I've been craving banana bread today since preparing blog posts for Gina's Italian Kitchen.  So many banana bread recipes jumped out at me that I even found a "banana bread for one" loaf.  So many sweet treats!  Check out my new blog posts!

Life is good and I am having a very happy week for no reason in particular.  Hopefully my friends up north have dug out of all that snow.  Your photos looked brutal and I am so grateful where God placed me in this world.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Happy Hump Day!

It has almost been a month and they still have not found Nancy Guthrie.  I'm still obsessed with this case and so sad for her family.  I've been watching JLR Investigates on You Tube for the 12 hours a day that he is on location.  Very interesting, although sometimes nothing is going on, but it is good background for working on the computer.

The cold nights went by rather comfortably since I approached it with positivity.  Local weather people are predicting this is the end of really cold weather for us.  We usually don't get the really cold weather in my part of the world.  Maybe once a decade it is a very cold on like this year.

Lots of new posts this week . . . check them out!

Have a wonderful week everybody!

A Joyful Heart

A joyful heart is what I have at the moment.  I went through the first night of cooler weather and I am comfortable without a lot of clothes.  Maybe I got used to it?  Tonight will be the coldest, but I will still be feeling joyful and blessed.

Even though it is Kiki's birthday week and I'm feeling sad, I've been thinking of great memories of her, The Captain and us as a family.  This new phase of grief is allowing me to have joy again.  It feels great!

I've found many great recipes as usual.  Happy to have found many more chicken recipes and some awesome potato recipes.  Check them out!

Happy new week everybody!

He needed to make a reappearance!

He's been here recently, but I felt the need to have him make a reappearance!

For the past month, I have had fried fish many times.  Last week alone, I had fried fish twice.  And here I am on the computer, looking for fish recipes and I have listed lots of them!  I have always loved seafood and prefer it over meat.  Actually I could just eat seafood and be happy.  Seafood and potatoes!

Have a good evening!  Check out my blog posts . . .

Happy Birthday Miss Kiki

The sweet thing in the photo is my Kiki who went to be with her sister and brother in Rainbow Bridge.  It has been a little over a year since she's been gone and I still miss her like it happened yesterday.  My little beauty with frosted hair.  She is heavy on my mind because this week is her birthday and she would have been 17 years old and still acted like an energetic puppy.  My heart will be broken forever, but I am blessed for the beautiful memories of sharing her life with me.  I love you Miss Kiki.

Just when I thought Spring was already here in my part of the world, a strong cold front will hit us tomorrow, bringing temps into the 30's and 40's.  Here we go again, no heater, it is almost like being outside.  We usually don't get this kind of winter, so I don't bother with a heater.    The good news is that it will only be three or four really cold nights, then we will be back to permanent Springtime weather.  So I will be cranky for several days.

I've continued to post to my blogs like crazy with all this energy to dig into several subjects and suggest articles that I think are relevant.  I love doing this.  That means I have made a job for my retired self who is a bored workaholic.  Not that I don't have anything to do, but this is what I love to do.  I have always been a computer geek and love the internet.

I hope that everyone in cold climates are finding comfort in this horrible winter.  It is that groundhog's fault!  In the meantime, I will be on the computer wearing so many clothes that it is difficult to move and gloves that make it difficult to use the keyboard.

Have a wonderful week anyway everybody . . . I'm gonna try!  Check out my new blog posts . . .

A Burst Of Sunshine

The sunshiny day has left me with that burst of sunshine and energy.  It is hard to describe that feeling, but when I read the graphic I realized that is how I am feeling.  This is one of the reasons why I love living in Florida.  The sunshiny days are phenomenal and the happiness felt results in kindness.  At least it does for me.

I've been very productive in getting my blog posts done.  A beautiful day can have a huge impact on a person's mood and energy.  I never thought about that until today.  It is especially amazing with the extended grief I have felt.  Feeling happy now is like extra happy.

My focus has been on slow cooker recipes.  Even though I am retired and could cook all day, I have other things to do and using the crock pot to cook is perfect for me.  I did appreciate it in my working days.  Coming home to a delicious smelling meal after a hard days' work would make a bad day good.

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Check out my new blog posts!

Cravings and Obsessions

Well I don't eat or cook with jalapenos.  But I will take a box of chocolates.

I'm still obsessed with the coverage of the missing lady.  Poor lady.  As I research the articles online, the television is right there, always turned on.  I watch the independent journalists on You Tube who are on the scene day and night.  They are very obsessed.

The chocolate cravings are still with me since I have not yet gotten it out of my system.  Actually preparing posts for my food blog keeps me hungry for all types of food.  Today it is roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy.

There are lots of new food blog posts . . . check them out!

Have a wonderful week everybody!
