Old Songs

Music has always been a big part of my life.  Old songs do take me back to a certain place and time.  Of course, the memories of the time creep in.  I've been hearing the song "Happy Man" by Chicago in my head over and over again.  They were The Captain's favorite band and I remember the first time he played the song for me and told me since he met me, the song had new meaning for him.  I will never forget that moment.  And it has come back to me over and over again.  It is one of those memories that brings pleasure and pain.

The good news is that the great Florida weather is back for a while, but the cold is threatening to come back next week.  Maybe it is time to treat myself to a couple of days at a nice hotel at the beach.

Hope you are all having a fabulous week!  New blog posts follow . . .

Time to Freak Out

Today I made my doctor appointment that I have been procrastinating.  I had no choice because I need my medication refills. "Why do I procrastinate about it?" you ask . . . I am deathly afraid of needles and I have to have bloodwork done.

TIME TO FREAK OUT!!

After my early doctor appointment, my cousin and I will hit a take out food spot and head to my favorite park to enjoy the beauty of nature.  I'm lucky she loves it too!

Going to that park is something I have not done since The Captain passed away.  We used to go there all the time, so naturally, it is where I wanted to go.  Kiki loved it too.  She was not a barking kind of dog, but she would let out little cries and look at me like if to say . . . let me get those birds and squirrels!  She was so cute when she did that.  What an awesome memory of enjoying the park with my little family.  It put a smile on my face :)

Happy Monday everybody, hope you all have an awesome week!  New blog posts follow . . .

Culture change memories for a babyboomer

Keeping busy has made a huge difference in my general attitude and mood.  When you don't have the time to think about a bunch of negative stuff all the time, it is natural to feel better.  Lesson learned - stay busy!

In updating my blogs, I have revisited good memories of the past, like The British Invasion and The Beatles first visit to the US and their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.  It took me back to a time where I experienced a huge culture change for my generation.  I wrote a post about it for Babyboomer Flashback back in 2011 and have reposted it.  It put a huge smile on my face since it was a phenomenal time in my life as I was not quite a teenager, but no longer a child going through this awesome culture change.

Memories can be so healing to a grieving soul and I'm so grateful for them.

Following is a list of new blog posts.  As I clean up the blogs, I am also bringing back some very old posts that are special.

Here's to everyone having a wonderful rest of the week!  Stay safe and grateful for those you love.
