New collaborations and looking back
The Captain and I have been working on new blogs and in the process of collaborating on some our existing blogs. We will soon have some new blogs enter the Adgitize and Entrecard system.
Babyboomer Flashback is currently featuring posts on the new TNT mini-series Falling Skies by The Captain. Look for future back in the day posts from him . . . we often sit around and discuss old television series, music, fads/trends and games we played when we were kids . . . he brings a new perspective of a little boy growing up in the 60's to the blog!
The posts at Subtropical Gardening are focusing on our current outdoor projects . . . growing tomato and pepper plants in our carport jungle. We are in the process of researching outdoor living spaces and using the blog as an inspiration point for those spaces we have found and love . . . and would love to incorporate into our outdoor spaces.
Gina's Italian Kitchen is currently featuring new recipes found that we have not tried yet.
Since The Captain and I have been the process of merging our lives together and making so many personal changes, it has been a time of looking back at the personal growth and progress I've made. Sometimes the only way to really get a grip of personal progress is going back to old journals, which is what I have been doing. Future posts on Peace, Love, Happiness will feature some of those old journal entries with updates. Those who have gone through drastic life changes will be able to relate . . . those going through life changes will hopefully be inspired that life gets better if you take one day at a time.
I still haven't gotten around to digging out those old photo albums so I can start scanning photos for my series of blog posts on Vintage Disney World . . . the way things were. It is one of those projects that I'm really looking forward to . . . especially converting those old VHS tapes to CD! The Captain will be setting up one of my old computers that will be dedicated to this project. I can't wait to write those posts on my Vintage Disney memories for My Florida Paradise blog.
Lots of changes happening at all of our blogs!

Happy Happy Happy
My theme for this week has been happiness . . . guess it is because I am feeling so much happiness. Yeah, I know, it sounds corny . . . but I don't care!
I'm still bored with food and have become very obsessive about watching the Food Network and seeking out food blogs for new recipe ideas. As a result, my food blog has been getting lots of new posts.
While I'm on the subject of food and the Food Network . . . have you checked out The Next Food Network Star? Although it has irritated me to no end, it is the one show that I don't want to miss. It reminds me of a train wreck. My thoughts on the contestants . . . I'd hate to see the ones who didn't make the final cut since there are some really weird personalities on this season's show.
The ones I really want to go home are the two that absolutely hate each other . . . they are equally annoying to me and I'd never watch a cooking show featuring them. The evil self-proclaimed sexy middle eastern chef turned middle eastern mom and the cry baby who speaks as if she has marbles in her mouth, making it very difficult to understand what she is saying. How in the world did cry baby make it to the final show? Didn't they realize that the girl is very difficult to understand with no stage presence? She always appears to have rolled out of bed seconds before the show. Just my opinion!
It is HOT AND HUMID in Florida ! Much to my delight, the daily storms have not kicked in as they usually do in June . . .
We have already been picking tomatoes off the tomato plant and the pepper plant is loaded with baby peppers!! I'll be posting more articles about growing tomato and pepper plants on my gardening blog, Subtropical Gardening.
You can also check out my personal website that was started as a means to organize all of my favorite links and learn web and graphic design, DonitaWorld.com, for links to meet all of your gardening needs.
If you are wondering about the bizarre name for my personal website . . . my first internet name was Donita and I thought I’d use that name forever. My website has been there since 2001 . . . too late to go changing the website name now.

The Sleaze Factor
Why am I not surprised that yet another politician admitted to sleazy behavior? Seems like we have entered the era of The Sleaze Factor. We aren't shocked anymore. The ladies involved couldn't wait to show their faces and tell their stories . . . they are appearing on the news shows fluttering their eyelashes at the camera, proudly speaking of their sleazy ordeal, getting their 15 minutes of fame. For what? Sex talk with a stranger? Oh yeah . . . now you are famous . . . congratulations, I'm glad you are proud of yourself.
What about the scumbag who won't resign since he "didn't do anything" to compromise his position? Well, I'm sure his constituents are proud of him since he has made the headlines and the only thing missing are the torrid details. As the days go by, I'm sure the media will sensationalize his behavior along with the details and make him a hero in the eyes of a degenerate society who loves bad behavior. The ladies will end up with a spread on Playboy as their reward.
It makes me sick . . .
Then there is the trial of Casey Anthony, another sleaze who could not be bothered to take care of a child who did not ask to be born. Much of what is wrong with our society is too much screwing around without thinking of the consequences . . . there are ways to keep from conceiving a child, but I guess it is way too inconvenient. Better to burden society with another unwanted child. Don't have children if you don't have the means or desire to take care of them!
OK . . . I feel better now . . . have a wonderful day :)

Mental Health Days
Other than doing the bare necessities, I am on mental health day #2. I haven't had much to say since I am straight up exhausted . . . mentally and physically.
I just proved to myself that my lack of focus and concentration levels has made the second DO NOTHING day necessary. As I was washing dishes and getting ready to prepare dinner, I stabbed myself in the palm of my hand with a knife. Don't ask me how I managed that . . . I don't know!! It barely scratched the surface, but the sight of blood freaked me out a bit. I'm a wimp . . . I admit it!
What do I do on DO NOTHING days? Sleep, stay in bed and actually watch television instead of just listening to it. Since I can't stay away from the computer, I have been cleaning out my email accounts. One of my accounts has over 8000 emails. So . . . if you have sent me an email and I haven't responded, now you know why . . . it is lost in the shuffle.
Through all the twists and turns of recent life circumstances that has exhausted me, I am so grateful and happy to have the most awesome man ever by my side. The Captain is sunshine on a cloudy day :-) I'm like a silly teenager with a crush . . .
Have a beautiful day!

Just another day in paradise
Don't have much to say today. I'm still feeling the effects of the whole internet/social media burn out thing and just doing those things that must be done. That restless feeling has consumed me, but I don't know what I'm restless about. I hate when that happens!
Hope you are all having an awesome day :)

Happy Hump Day!
Another phase of computer burnout has hit me . . . real life is just too much fun and I am working on way too many projects at the same time. Ok . . . the projects are in the planning stages of my mind and I have simply been this slug-like creature after a string of stressful and hectic events this past month or so. It catches up eventually!
I've had to switch the television channel over to the Food Network and DIY since the news has been getting me down. Since Donald Trump bowed out of the presidential race (at least for now), politics has become boring and uneventful. The tornado devastation that never seems to end has really gotten me down . . . seeing so much tragedy makes me feel helpless and depressed.
The weather has become really hot and humid, but the tomato and pepper plants love it :) The insect population is booming and we have been invaded by a host of mosquitoes, wasps, nasty grasshoppers and hornets. I'm happy to report that the snake population has diminished to the point that we have not seen one in a very long time . . . gotta love all the cats that love to hang out on the property.
Happy Wednesday . . . hope your week has been more productive than mine. I'll be back with a listing of my blog posts for all of my blogs :)
